Conflict Management Training
The programme is aimed at trainers wishing to deliver the new door supervisor
and static and patrol guarding training specification.
To take part in this programme you will have passed a Train the Trainer Level 3
course, or equivalent teaching award.
The programme assumes that you are competent in the basic development of lesson
plans and that you are competent in basic presentation and delivery of classroom
based learning material. You will also need to have knowledge and understanding
of Door Supervision and the Licensed Retail Sector, or Static and Patrol Guarding
Sector.
The SIA specification for Communications and Conflict Management training requires
the learning to be achieved through practical scenarios, which relate to the real
issues faced in the sector.
The aim of this trainer programme is build on your existing knowledge and skills by
providing development in three areas:

The underpinning knowledge and understanding required to deliver the
Communication and Conflict Management element of the SIA requirement

The knowledge, understanding and skills to operate more interactively with delegates

The knowledge, understanding and additional skills required to be able to deliver scenario based learning.
The aims will be achieved through three elements:

A distance learning phase through which you will gain the underpinning knowledge and understanding.

TA work based project, which will be undertaken as you work through the distance learning material

A course based phase, which will provide the opportunity for development and assessment of the skills you require to lead scenario-based learning.
The assessment will be a mix of theory and practical scenarios in accordance with Edexcel
